Seed Bakery is a family-owned local artisan bakery in Pasadena specializing in sourdough bread and sourcing fresh local produce for our food, bread, and pastries.

Job Summary

Pastry Chefs are in charge of creating morning pastry items such as scones, tarts, sweet quickbreads, cakes, muffins, and savory hand pies using seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Pastry chefs may also be responsible for laminating, dividing, and fabricating a variety of Viennoiserie. This is a perfect opportunity for a seasoned pastry chef to bring their own CREATIVE input.

Responsibilities

• Scaling multiple pastry formulas
• Daily baking of multiple morning pastry items including scones, cakes, cookies, tarts, cookies, and custards.
• Preparing cake batters, cookie doughs, tart doughs, custards, fruits, and vegetables
• Providing feedback to owners to improve process, work environment, and product quality

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a pastry chef role
• Full and part-time hours available
• Must be able to work between the hours of 6AM-2PM
• Must be clean, professional, and organized
• Must be committed to punctuality, working as a team, and taking directions
• Capable of lifting 45lb bags
• A strong desire to learn and grow with the bakery

Compensation

Starting wage depending on experience
